Rabbi Schochet notes that nobody has been able to identify the location of Okop, the birthplace of the Baal Shem Tov. I believe this town has been clearly identified as noted in the periodical Heichal HaBesh"t volume 3, published by Heichal Menachem of Boro Park, 2003.

i have been waiting to see you Rabbi Schochet time moves so fast i forget my self. You have truly done the Jewish people a service to teach. Such focus, it is like a tree in the middle of the desert, one must need that shade in order to bare his soul. i have listened to your lectures and don't worry about staying on the subject you may talk about what ever Hashem breaths into your nostrils. You have done good things in your time on earth and you will always be very respected as the root of the Torah tree. i am just a seedling not yet strong enough to withstand a heavy storm hoping that the Torah tree will protect me One day.
